Artist History
Walk the Earth was the brainchild of drummer Steve Lingo. Playing drums for many years, he had been wanting to reach out with music that meant something. He and Ryan Shaughnessey attended the same church, and played together in the worship band. They had been talking about the project for some time when Steve contacted an old friend from school, Shawn Kichta. Steve and Shawn had played in bands in high school and the years following, and they had always played together well. When Steve told Shawn what he wanted to do, he was apprehensive, yet excited, and the energy started pouring out in the form of songs.Shawn was working part-time in a recording studio at that time, so they decided to record the first demo. The three songs were chosen and things went smoothly.Shortly after, Ryan decided to focus his attention on school, and the search was on for a new bass player. Welcome Derek Kelley. Steve had met Derek, and jammed with him before, and thought he would be a good candidate. And so he was. He joined the trio for some tour gigs, and then in the studio to record the second demo. Sadly, after a few more shows, the band realized that they were being called to do other things, and decided to call it quits. Thier music, however, is still a valid symbol of what they were trying to do, and the messages are still the same. We hope that you enjoy it. |
