    Artist History
Within a short period of time, the group evolved from virtually financing their own gigs to being in demand at many venues in Scotland, including The CatHouse, The Arena, Nice ‘n Sleazy, etc. They are now in the enviable position of not having to underwrite ticket sales for their performances, as their audience is fairly firm. Over the last few years, the band made demo tracks available to local radio stations both in Scotland and in Europe. As a result their music is played regularly on the ‘independent shows’ on Central FM and Forth FM. Additionally, a Belgian and also a Moscow station continue to plague the band with requests for more material.During 1999, the group produced a full-length CD including a multimedia Video-ROM that in addition to being sold at gigs is also available in select music stores and via the bands own internet website.Recently, the band featured on the Scottish Television S2 channel when they were filmed live at ‘Strawberry Fields’, a Glasgow venue. Also this year, the band has played at many local outdoor music festivals within Scotland.

***Review courtesy of: “OUAS” Online Music Magazine – www.openupandsay.com*** It's very refreshing to hear some straight–forward melodic metal hit the speakers. Especially when it's a pretty darn good listen! Just to keep the record straight, this is not the AOR/hardrock band Bone Machine featuring Ted Poley on vocals. This is the Bone Machine from Scotland and they are metal, plain and simple. Formed in 1997, this independent act have so much potential that it is damn frightening. This debut release has eight solid, catchy songs, and even a CD–ROM video (albeit, very rough video) of the opening track, "Freeze." While a track like "Prey" does have quite the modern U.S. hardrock edge ala Creed, this album has the ability to successfully reach the ears of vast group of listeners, whether it's fans of heavy metal, hardrock, prog–metal, or the heavy sides of modern–rock.Alan Osborne's vocals are not by any means amazing, but they are highly accessible, and often times, aggressive. And guitarists Steve McCreadie and Dave O'Neill have no problem jumping from a simple crunch riff to a solo fill. But the true stars here have to be the combination of drummer Martin McConnell and the talented "Dr." Allan Cope (who also acts as the band's manager). Cope's track is well represented in the mix and for good reason. And when combined with the strong drumming of McConnell, the foundation of the Bone Machine's music is solid.Ending tracks "Sedation" and "Damned" are labeled as live and sound like they're performed live in the studio with no final engineering performed to the mix. The sound quality is rough, but if this is what they sound like live, backing vocals and all, then it's no wonder this act has made a name for itself in their home country. There's some great music to be found on this independently thrown together release. If a professional master mix could be added to the production and the performance were just a notch tighter, then album would be downright exceptional. Definitely a band to keep an ear out for, and for some lucky metal label to pick up. — by Wes Royer, Editor*** ***Review courtesy of: Rock At Large – members.xoom.com/RockAtLarge*** People can always argue on the 'validity' of Modern Metal as we are now in the new millenium. Fundamentalists and extremists will find it hard to swallow the emergence of such reforms. The Bone Machine which originated from UK, deliver us the sound of the modern with huge groovy-pogoing intact. The type which all the modern rock music is about, groove-to-funky, 'danceable' and perhaps a crowd-pleaser. This package comes with hard-rocking vocals, slapping bass, the infamous Nirvana-type-o-drumming and grungy-funky guitars. Well, at least that is what the starting title Freeze sounds like. With that starting, they venture forth, with unsurprisingly predictable flow. But above all that, The Bone Machine is good at what they do. How can we argue if they did it with craft? With enough promotions, I don't doubt if they can't get it to the top.
