    Artist History
Nijinsky Style was founded in 1987 by Tina Sanudakura and Andy A. Schwarz as they closed the musical chapter of No More. They both took their time to develop their new project and to realize it with various guest musicians. After a break between 1995 and 1997 and a reorientation Nijinsky Style started again in 1998 with the composing and production of new songs. Nijinsky Style´s first release was the 7" Single "Now´s the time" (Roof Music) in 1989, followed by the Longplay-CD "Memories to come" in 1992 on their own label Funambules Records. They recorded the album "Amidst the ruins" between 1992 and 1994 with various guests, but decided to put the album on ice and to start other projects. Whereas "Memories to come" referred - from the point of view of sound and the music as such - to the converted traditions (Klezmer, Folk, Chanson, etc.), these traditions, although yet recognizable, are nowadays more the emotional basics than the musical form.It may sound paradoxical but the usage of modern technics in connection with the acoustic instruments brought the sound nearer to its roots. The music itself is more european than ever, which is for example reflected by the peculiar language mixture. The (anglo)american influence can only be recognized when music and atmosphere find their european equivalent. Nijinsky Style strive for a intermedial realization of their concept of the "remembered past" and are currently developing a "virtual orchestra" that is going to be a acoustical and visual backing band and which is going improvise and compose with them in "realtime".

    Press Reviews
TIP/Berlin:... blasts away just about all limits of our Anglo-American-oriented music. Folk and Pop meet up with Waltz, Tango and Chanson, jump arround in a wild circle, rejoice with love of life and energy, only suddenly to pause and revel wistfully in nostalgic memories ... evoking images in sepia and slow motion. This completely insane mixture is fascinating and to listen to all "memories to come" is an absolute must.EB/METRONOM: ... Its weird mixture of chanson, folk, classic and jazz, and its flirt with nostalgic melancholy is quite convincing and has become even more expressive. Despite the disparity of the pieces, a common magic permeates them all. ...DARMSTÄDTER ECHO: ... resurrects a bygone era, lets bygone melodies and feeling come to life again. ... MUSIK EXPRESS/SOUNDS: ... 13 atmospheric originals ... create an emotional exhuberance of happiness and sorrow. ... SUBLINE: ... Rough or sentimental, amusing or sarcastic - this timeless album, which refuses to be stuffed into any category, covers all moods and is thus the ideal music to accompany the reading of a John Irving novel. ...STICKS: ... refers to the Russian dancer and choreographer Waslav Nijinsky (1890 - 1950). He propagated interaction between the art forms, and he has found worthy heirs in this Post-Wave band from Kiel. ...BRAUNSCHWEIGER ZEITUNG: ... film music without the film. ...
