Artist History
The powerful voice and music of Melissa "Seay" Hart has been heard across the continents. Blessed with a striking look and sound, her travels and life experience have given her a depth apparent in her voice, her performances, and her artistry. Her mus i c incor porates the secular and spiritual and is uniquely her own. "I'm having an incredible journey, I am a woman who's learned with determination, discipline, and faith, you can do it all". Singing and playing all of her life explains her many streng t hs and ve r satility. "I've been fortunate to have worked with some of the most diverse and finest artists around. I've also had great teachers: Seth Riggs, Helena Shenel, Ray Hyson, Harriet Schock, Don Campbell." As a Songwriter, she's the recipient o f 6 awards, i nc luding the Grand Prize in the Pop/Song category of the Music City Song Festival. As a Singer, her voice has landed credits in Europe and the U.S. Some of her work includes projects for Cher, U.K. Singer Elaine Paige, Mick Ronson (David Bowie), Boney Ja mes, Mattel, Kathy Chiavola, CBS Special "Tribute to the Ryman" with Marty Stuart, Vince Gill, Pam Tillis, Carl Perkins, Carlene Carter. She's also worked with many incredible new artists like Judith Owen, Aeone, Pat Thomi, as well as aw a rd-wi n ning Wri ter/Pr oducers, Robbie Bucannan, Adrian Gurvitz, Tony Visconti, Denise Rich, Jeff Silverman, Cheryl Rogers, Greg Barnhill and Lori Mechem. Recently teaming up in Nashville with veteran Producer/Writer Don Scott Hare, and L.A. based Com p os er Geo f f Stradlin g, Melissa Co-Produced a self-titled Cd which she calls "Pop Music for the world". Blending a mix of lush orchestral pop tracks with indigenous rhythms and chanting, this project introduces her artistic magic! "Most of the music I'm d oin g n ow h a s e vo l ve d from t ime studying the healing power of music. It's my hope to keep singing, keep making great music and perhaps, inspire the listener."
