Artist description
When a voice as real as that of Jeremy Parise appears, you're compelled to stop and listen; he writes and sings from the mind and the heart. On his self-produced albums, he alone delivers the vocals, guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums. The intensity of his music, carefully layered guitar-driven rock with touches of electronica, is matched only by the depth of his intelligent and sensitive lyrics which seem to stretch beyond his 23 years. Taking pop songs to a higher level with both music and lyrics rich in texture, his fresh sound has been embraced by college radio, particularly his singles "Alone on a Road" and "Ride". |

Press Reviews
NY Press 3/3/00: "Another great CD I got is from Jeremy Parise, called As We Float,self-released on his own label, jerparise@aol.com. Now, usually I hate thiskinda stuff. What with one guy who writes, produces, performs and engineersthe whole shebang. But this CD is different. Not just an ego trip from apretty swell-looking guy, this recording is very listenable. The music, while sounding unique, does bring the White Album to mind, but also straysin the directions of early Bowie and even the Velvet Underground. Wendyloves this disc, and has already stolen it from me. Chicks."Say What??? Weekly Industry Source 2/20/00Multi-talented Jeremy Parise delivers a brilliant set on his independent release, Lucky. The four-song EP is sonically charged with the passion that makes radio programmers cream in their pants. This NYC producer, singer, songwriter, guitar player, keyboard player, bass player and drum player is an all around performer. Being able to grasp the different aspects of roles players play makes him a key asset. Making pop songs is not an easy task. Making pop songs stand out in the listeners head in a unique and free-falling atmosphere is unheard of. But Parise does it and does it well. His influences stem from Radiohead, which you can hear in the track, "Ride", as well as Pink Floyd, which is an overall flavor indigenously implanted throughout the recording. Parise has opted to work with a solid foundation of musicians for his live performances and is selling out venues all around NYC. |
