Artist History
Goldspot has secured a permanent place in the hearts of fans by crafting
beautiful, powerful and honest music that evokes the deepest of emotion from its listeners. The music shines through lead Siddhartha’s emotive, honest, and compelling vocals, the melody-driven, sensitive guitar playing of Chris[K], the powerful and melodic bass and keyboard playing of Danny Dunlap, and the innovative drumming of Ramy Antoun.
It all began in the Fall of 2000, where Siddhartha and Dunlap met. Inspired
by what he calls “beautiful and honest songs” that Siddhartha was crafting,
Dunlap invited college friend and guitarist [K] to work on the project.
Over the next months, Siddhartha, Dunlap, and [K] built a friendship rooted
in making music that they loved. They loc ked themseleves in a small room
somewhere in the middle of Koreatown, Los Angeles where they wrote,
recorded, and played music.
By the Summer of 2001, Dunlap’s long-time friend and drummer Antoun came on as the final creative link, and Goldspot was formed. The formation of Goldspot merged four lost musical souls, each eager to create music that
would matter. Together, the foursome have judiciously blended the sounds and melodies in Brit-rock with those of American rock, creating a sound
somewhere in between Jeff Buckley and U2.
From the radio-friendly, sure-to-be hit song “Friday” that yearns for hope
in the wake of love and loss, to the driving and powerful masterpiece
“Warning” that uses introspection as the key to finding happiness, to the
tear-jerking ballad “So Fast” that pulls on the heartstrings of its
listeners with its honest and heartfelt lyrics, Goldspot is sure to be the
year’s biggest find.. |
