Artist History
It could be said that Derek Elkins began his career on the stages of Western Guilford High School and in the corner of Border's Bookstore. Beginning with crowds of only a few and now with attendence well into the hundreds at many of his shows, Derek is finally enjoying the benefits of hard work early on in his career. "Doing everything without a record label has helped me see everything that goes into the careers of all these rock stars that we all think have it so easy. I see now that they, themselves, may have it easy, but there is a hundred people outside the spotlight making it possible for that star to get up on that stage and be a star every night. There's no question, that I've got those same type of people behind me," Derek says. For right now, the future is untold for Derek, but one thing is for sure, he'll be plugging away at his music for years to come. |
