Artist description
Weekender plays in the vein of some of the more pleasant
groups (usually from the U.K.) of the 1980’s. Think The Smiths
and U2 (Then include indie mainstays such as American Analog
Set, Mogwai, Death Cab for Cutie, and Belle & Sebastian).
They are a formidable live act and have a thoroughly modern
and rawkish sound for certain (and rawkish isn’t even a word).
Melodies de melancholy with a firm dose of ingeniously
frenetic guitar work.
"A driving rock band with more than a little touch of their
tongues planted in their cheeks."
"Egan's guitar [is] alternately sensually subtle or blatantly
blunt, setting the mood for the song of the moment"
