Artist History
For a post-hardcore band with as much hype within their own music scene, North of November has managed to live up to their name and prove why they are so publicized. The music is captivating in every aspect from the extremely enthusiastic vocal stylings to the mesmerizing complexity of the guitars to the powerful back drop of the bass and drums. The painfully passionate yet sonically dense sound of this band is one that any avid supporter of indie-core, screamo, or emocore music will fall in love with.
North of November first blasted into the music scene when they were asked to open for Saosin (Death Do Us Part Records) and Boys Night Out (One Day Savior Recordings) in August of 2003. Anthony Green, lead singer of Saosin, liked the band so much, he invited the band to share the stage with him when Saosin would be returning in two weeks. The buzz about the band’s first show spread like wildfire. An Austin booker requested the band to play at one of Austin’s top venue’s, The Vibe, on the infamous Sixth Street. Such shows are not usually booked so early in an artist’s career, but North of November has earned every one with their heavy promotion, the promise of a packed venue, and the ability to walk off every stage with the satisfaction of having pleased everyone in the audience.
The upcoming album, “When Only One Word Comes To Mindâ€, has an expected release date set in late November, and is being recorded at Rhapsody Street Studios in San Antonio. They also have an upcoming national tour planned for the new year. The band will be playing in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma alongside the Los Angeles band, New Dead Radio. One of which shows will be Louisiana’s Mardi Gras festival in late February.
Of all things that come to mind when you think of North of November, one thing is certain: whether you are alone in your bedroom listening to the album or a body in the ocean of passionate fans at the live show belting out every word as it’s sung back to you, you’ll find yourself lost in the sound that has flared from San Antonio, Texas. And at that moment, you’ll know that it’s a time when only one word comes to mind.

Press Reviews
The second vocalist Charles Salvaggio let out his first word it was evident to me that North of November wasn't just a come and go band. With their unique style of melodic hardcore North of November has quickly gained fame and brought to life a local music scene that was quickly trickling away to nothing.
With such a strong stage presense it's hard to imagine that they don't even have a year together under their belt. When I saw them step on to the stage I knew nothing more then what I was told, another hardcore band, a description that was completly wrong. They started off strong and never let off one bit with a perfectly blended sound of warm and harsh tones. They performed with a eer that some veteran bands do not even posess and did it in such a relaxed manner that it seemed to come naturally to them.
North of November is a band who gives the now popular genre a major ass kicking and does so with solid performance and sound that is truely beyond their years. With an onstage intensity that explodes off the bat the band still finds a way to transition into songs that are as tranquil as tranquil can be. So if you're looking for a band to watch out for you can now keep your eyes set on North of November.
