Press Reviews
THE DONT'S started in 2002 in a basement in Oakland, CA and have since rocketed their way to the top -- under a garage in San Francisco. They practice a unique blend of pop sensibility and post-cool angst influenced by 60s garage rock, 70s soul, old skool punk, hipster jazz and dark no-wave. Punctuated by a '57 Gibson hollowbody and a Radio Shack bullhorn, their unique sound ranges from epileptic pop songs to narcotic ballads. And their Dont'ettes always add to the lively performance. "The Dont's show that they're very adept at the whole pop-rock thing. Having a mishmash of influences (Pixies, Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth), The Dont's are an indie band with an indie sound. Loose and poppy, with some rocking out fuzz thrown into the mix. And it works.
