Artist description
Mr Bix is effortlessly eclectic with sounds coming from every genre of music. He was born in Astoria Oregon; and raised in the wide open spaces of Alaska. By the early '80's John moved back to Fairbanks to record and release (with co-musicians Riff and Fitz) his debut Album "Wasted in Wasteland" which was done on vinyl LP and has become a vital collector piece throughout Alaska if one of the original 1,000 copies can be found. The career that followed has seen the likes of jamming with Muddy Waters and James Cotton's blues band and recently recording with Pete Christlieb and Shelly Berg two world renown jazz musicians. Pete did alot of tenor sax soloing in the Doc Severensen Orchestra during the Johnny Carson Reign. I enjoyed listening to him then and met up with him later. He also did sax solo on Aja for Steely Dan. In addition Pete has played as Shelly has on numerous Scores and Sountracks and for other artists as well. Shelly is a leader of Jazz at USC. Both have numerous CD's of their own. John (Mr Bix) is currently recording at his home in Hesperia California. His new release "Mr Bix" is a must hear. CD"s can be obtained by e mail jbix909@msn.com. Music Style
Electric Blues, Jazz, Rock, Jazz/Blues/Funk, Funk, Pop, Rap/Funk,Urban/R&B,Techno,World/Folk,Reality,Pop & Rock,Top Forty,Metal,Latin,Jazz,Hip Hop/Rap,Electronic,Easy Listening,Country,Comedy,Classical,Blues,Children's Music,Alternative; etc; did I leave any out? I like and will do (shamelessly) any kind of Music. I believe almost anything can swing. Have you ever heard the instrumental on Hello Dolly with Pop's (Louis Armstrong) dixieland band? That's what I'm all about and my music shows it. My current CD Mr Bix is mostly high energy electric sounds- blues, and jazz, with a little rap - rock and roll/blues, and dixieland. There are 12 long entertaining songs on the CD. I went to alot of trouble (and expense) to make the songs as entertaining as possible. The result was alot of good music by some well respected and special musicians like Pete Christlieb and Shelly Berg highly respected in their fields (music and drag racing) along with the others John Bickers on Guitar, Riff Rafson from Fairbanks Alaska, Roger Gillespie and the rest of us. Please sit back, relax and Enjoy. |
