Artist description
The Traditional Music of New South Wales originates in the songs and tunes of the early colonizers of Australia. The early pioneers who are the convicts, squatters, gold diggers, drovers, bushrangers, farmers, miners, the settlers of the land from the British Isles and Europe. In a region West of the Blue Mountains away from Sydney, the adventurer, like an inquisitive Henry Lawson, can find Bush Music in all walks of life. The Music of the Country venues includes,Festivals,Country celebrations,Woolshed Dances,House Parties,Church Festivities,Shearing Sheds,Town functions, pub sessions,or the ordinary local Saturday Night Dance. My interest is to develop this genre of music and adapt it to the guitar,in a contribution and expansion of the guitar repertoire. This all evolves from a close study, playing, listening and appreciation of the current traditional sounds from all these instruments of the Bush, the fiddle, the piano accordion, the whistle, mandolin, banjo, the harmonica and concertina.
