Artist History
DITO was formed back in April, 2002 in Bandung, Indonesia. The band back then only consisted of three members; Andre, Dita, Tery. The first formation was Andre on drums, Dita on bass, and Tery played guitar and sang. Nevertheless, the luck wasn’t that good for them in the first months, because the band didn’t seem to blend in together.
Months flew by, another member joined in the band. This time the formation has changed due to the new comer. Asep, the new guy, took over bass position and therefore left Dita with rhythm guitar and Tery on lead guitar and vocal, with Andre still on the drums. As the new member has changed the formation, so has the music. They still play alternative punk, but with more tastes in their own songs. Since then, they decided to come up with the new genre of their own, which is EPI (Emo Indie Punk).
The first original song that they ever played was called Insanity, with its fast pace and short length that really depicts what kind of music they really play. After having played together for six months, they have come up with more than ten songs of their own and have released their first EP album with eight songs in January, 2003.
Today, they have released their debut album that reveals another eight songs, such as Mom and Dad Not My Kind, Anthem of The Youth, You’re Overdue, etc. The album was released in July, 2003 and DITO believe that it will embrace more listeners than the first EP.
In the process of making the album, DITO was helped by a guitarist named Hery that later on was offered to join the band. Now, with another change in band members, DITO has become more solid than ever and is ready to show the world their catchy and emotional songs.
