Artist History
Peter Welle and Jon Gilmore formed the band in
early 2001 performing under the name Ashes for
Beauty. Changing their name to Welmore Mile in
2003, along with the release of their new album
marked a new beginning for their music. The
name harkens back to a place from the past, a
place close to their origins while also
suggesting a world of open possibilities and
choices.
Welmore Mile will be performing regularly
throughout 2003, breaking briefly in August
to finish recording their new album with
producer John Hermanson (Storyhill, Alva Star,
Brenda Weiler), hopefully available by late 2003.

Group Members
Peter Welle and Jon Gilmore. Peter Welle has
been an active songwriter since picking up the
guitar in late 1996 having penned over 40 songs
in that time. His musical influences include
the Beatles, Jeff Buckley and U2, which can be
heard in his songs' sense of melody and
emotional uplift. Jon Gilmore has been playing
guitar since his early teen years, and has
developed a deeply melodic lead guitar style.
His understated guitar lines add layers of
beauty to Welmore Mile's songs while his
outstanding harmonies add strength and polish
to their stong love of melody. |
