Artist History
Since the band's debut in December 02, University has quickly established themselves as a band that is on its way to a promising future. They have played to large crowds at Chicago's Metro, Schubas, The Note, Beat Kitchen, Subterranean, Prodigal Son, Elbo Room, and U of I at Urbana-Champaigne's The Canopy Club. Their debut independent release, Make Believe (side a)(June 2003), is receiving rave reviews and selling very strongly. Three of its six songs are currently being spun on Chicago's three major rock stations (Q101, The Zone, WXRT) by some of the city's most familiar on-air talents in underground rock and roll. The band is currently finishing up tracks for its second self-released EP, Make Believe (side b), which is slated for an October release.
The four-piece consists of
Aaron Mortenson (23, drums)
Gordon Persha (25, bass)
Jay Rutherford (20, vocals/guitar)
Kellen Kerwin (20, guitar)
