Artist description
This five-piece metal band formed in 1998 out of Lansing, Michigan, with hopes of someday making it in the music industry expressing their feelings and opinions in a way that people can relate to. Split 9 has a very distinct sound that's all their own.
With their first self-released album in 2000 entitled, "Comtemporary Lit" Split 9 made their first step to try and achieve a fan base. The release of "Only Time Will Tell" in the spring of 2002, with the same sound, but more aggressive beats seemed to have more of an impact on their fans and definately broadened their horizon.
When Split 9 goes from offstage to onstage, they change into totally different people. While the band waits to hit the stage, they remain calm and collected, concentrating on what they know they must do. Once on stage, all hell breaks loose and anything goes, from crowd diving to pyrotechnics to girls filling the stage, and all that makes for one hell of a show.
The bottom line is, 21 year-old vocalist Albert Leven, 22 year-old Guitarist Jeremy Southwick, 20 year-old Drummer Dan Shields, 19 year-old bassist Miguel Briseno, and 21 year-old mixer-sampler Nano Rivera (2 Hype) have become a force to be reckoned with, and a band to definately watch for in the future.
Split 9 gives credit to their fans for going all out and getting just as sick as they do. They claim to have some of the roughest and most loyal fans.
Split 9 is currently writing new music for their upcoming album which does not yet have a release date. They also currently have a 4-song demo from their up and coming new album. |
