Musical Direction
At A Very Young Age I Heard People Like Hank Snow, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb, And Bill Monroe, And Flatt And Scruggs. I Decided That This Was The Music That Had The Sound And Style That I Liked, Then I Heard Merle Haggard And Faron Young, And Buck Owens And Jeorge Jones, And That Hooked Me On Country Music. As A Teenager, I Rodeod At Several Of The Same Rodeo's As Reba Mcentyre, So I Worshipped Her From A Far For Several Of My Formative Years. As I Grew Up My Home Was Filled With The Down Home Sound Of The Music Of Oklahoma.I Found That The Music Had A Flavor All It's Own, That Didn't Have To Be Copied, Only Translated And Interpreted. That Got Me Started Writing Music As Well As Playing And Singing What I Call "My Music".
Writing History
I Started Writing Lyrics At The Age Of 18. Around 1973 I Started Playing In Talent Shows As A Lead And Rythm Guitar Player With A Couple Of Local Bands. They Never Did Anything Special, But It Sure Was Fun. In 1995 I Found My Biological Father And Quickly Realized Where My Talent And Love Of Music Came From.
We Started Playing Senior Citizens Dances And At Hospitals And The Old Folks Homes. It Never Did Pay Any Money, But Made Them, As Well As Ourselves Smile
