Artist History
Do Not Resuscitate was formed in April 2003 by Martin (guitars/backing vox) and John Staples (lead guitar), their aim was to form the ‘state of the art’ thrash metal band, primarily influenced by Metallica, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden. They soon recruited Shake (drums), Mr Evil (bass) and they started to rehearse in Scream Studios in South Croydon. After two rehearsals they brought in Jaymz Dead on vocals from Death Metalcore band Dead By Dawn and the formulae was almost (they thought) complete.
But after another few rehearsal/writing sessions both and Shake and then latterly Mr Evil had left due to a combination of musical and personal differences. Shake was replaced by Steve Harris (D-Fect, Stone Face) and Mr Evil by Joe Barlett (Dead By Dawn).
The stage was now set for the recording of the ‘Staring Back’ EP which took place in Moon Studios, Croydon at the beginning of August 03. Although only 4 tracks long, the EP successfully manages to incorporate the aforementioned influences with harder bands such as Turmoil, Sepultura, Anthrax and Napalm Death.
Do Not Resuscitate will be terrorising the venues of London and South East England in Autumn 2003. |
