Artist description
Stalemate is a tree that grew from seeds sewn in NEPA’s fertile punk and
hardcore scene. They are the product of their surroundings but this is not
your run of the mill pack of “scene brothers.” They are staying true to the
cause of pushing their sound beyond the envelope of what a hardcore band is “supposed” to be. Stalemate uses elements of harmony and dynamics to create music that makes you think as much as feel.
Stalemate has shared the stage with numerous bands ranging from Hatebreed to Sensefield and have recently played Hell Fest in Syracuse NY turning many heads with their powerful performance. They have also toured New England with a vengeance and plan on touring extensively in the near future to support their upcoming new record coming out in late sep on stillborn records.
The soon to be released album was produced by Keats Rickard in August of 2001 and demonstrates the power and depth of their live show while expanding their musical horizon with new and inventive ideas.
This is a band that brings years of hard work into its music and after only
ten minutes into any set, you’ll know they aren’t a pose or flavor of the
month. Stalemate is not about being this year’s model and have proven that time and time again in their quest to expand their musical talents. Stalemate is progress married to tradition and spawning the future. Listen and know.
