Artist description
Henry Hsu is a singer/songwriter whose music is earthy acoustic pop/rock -- modern, intelligent and carefully crafted. He is releasing his self-produced debut CD entitled Black Dreaming Place, featuring 11 emotional compositions that fuse classic songwriting with modern textures, loops, and sensitive guitar voicings. An eclectic mix of dreamy, trance-like tracks, and succinct radio-friendly songs, Black Dreaming Place is an album that should be in the CD music collection of any fan of the genre. From stark arrangements to rich multi-layered sounds -- multi-ethnic instrumentation to buzzing electric guitar -- looping passages or memorable radio hooks -- Black Dreaming Place has enough to keep the listener interested from beginning to end. |

Artist History
Black Dreaming Place is a realization of a lifelong dream, states Henry. Its an album made for music sake. Imagine someone liberated from the trappings of commercialism and makes an album out of pure love of music and the craft. An accomplished guitarist of 18 years, Henry was a member of Give, a Vancouver-based band known for its diverse mix of rock, folk, blues, and jazz influences. Henry's debut album showcases his personal writing style developed during his time with Give and refined in subsequent years, and features a unique signature that combines organic instruments with digital technology. |

Press Reviews
Mike McGuirk, Listen.com: Gentle, sensitive acoustic pop with intelligent lyrics and Lennon-esque, reverb-soaked vocals. Primal rhythms and trippy electric guitars carry things to the next level in perfect classic hits radio codas. |
