Fast forward to the 90’s and due to last year’s merger, Profile Records is bought out by Arista Records sending PRT to a new home with still no direction or support. With a new management team, Meridian Entertainment, helmed by Lisa "Chase" Patterson and "Hard Hittin" Harry", PRT’s battle plan is in place for the new millennium. Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, Ms. Narubi offers her listeners a blend of hard hitting hip-hop, sultry jazz undertones, and a touch of melodic mood swings with pure poetry. Her style has been compared to some of the greatest: Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Eta James, and Sara Vaughn, just to name a few. Narubi somehow bridges the gap between hip-hop & jazz without undermining the musical compositions and vocal power that is so often overlooked by her peers. Her sultry, raspy sound revolutionizes the “sing-sing” rhythm that is so often duplicated and sampled into today’s hip-hop culture.
