    Having grown up on Eastern Long Island, Minna Bromberg's rich, powerful vocals and sharp songwriting are marked indelibly with the pull of the ocean and the tang of sea air.Minna has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Ella Jenkins, Charlie King, Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, Magpie, and Pat Humphries.

    Artist History
    During and after college, Minna worked for the Hudson River SloopClearwater, an environmental organization founded by Pete Seeger in 1966.With the mission of using advocacy, education, and celebration to protectand restore the Hudson River, Clearwater is best known in the music worldfor its yearly festival The Great Hudson River Revival. Minna hasperformed at Revival (in 1995, 1996, and 1999) as well as at riverfrontfestivals and coffeehouses throughout the Hudson Valley from the EighthStep in Albany to the Indoor Folk Festival at Symphony Space in Manhattan.She's played for passengers of all ages aboard Clearwater -theorganization's 106' sloop-and sailed as a shipboard musician on schoonersout of Mystic, Connecticut and Maine's Bar Harbor and Boothbay Harbor. Hertravels have also taken her to the West Coast where she won "BestPerformance" in her first appearance at the Portland SongwritersAssociation's showcase.Since moving to Chicago in 1997, Minna has become an active member of thePeople's Music Network for Songs of Freedom and Struggle (PMN). PMN is anetwork of musicians and activists using music to work for social change.PMN members are anti-racist activists, peace & justice activists,feminists, labor organizers, lesbian and gay rights activists, and more.Minna was instrumental in organizing PMN's Annual Winter Gathering inChicago in January 1999. The three-day conference --entitled "CelebratingOur Diversity and Continuing the Struggle"-- focused on anti-racism andmulticulturalism. The weekend kicked off with a standing room only concertat the People's Church in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood. The concertincluded performances by Pete Seeger, Charlie King, Ella Jenkins, andVoices. Minna's performance of her own song "What Price Liberty?" withhelp from fellow PMN member Dave Martin got the entire audience of 1600singing along.In addition to playing in coffee shops throughout Chicagoland, Minna hasalso appeared at the None of the Above Coffeehouse and with Dave Martin atthe Two Way Street Coffee House. Her voice has been heard everywhere fromfolk shows on radio stations WNUR, WDCB, and WZRD to anti-war protests inthe Loop.Minna released her first album of original songs, "Wherever I've Come From,Wherever I Go," in 1995 when she was 22 years old. Her second independentrelease "The World is Ready" came out in February 1999 on her Bone in HerTeeth label (BoneInHerTeeth@hotmail.com). "The World is Ready" featuresboth originals as well as covers of songs by Bob Dylan, Nick Cave, and TheBarenaked Ladies.
