Artist History Artist Bio: John Savage and George Deveny John Savage and George Deveny are familiar to Central New York audiences through their vocal and guitar work in a number of regional groups over the past three decades, including Blueprints, the Savage-Stone Band, the Dust Devil Band, Good Friday, Homegrown and the Solid Oak Band.Savage is a solid songwriter and strong vocalist-guitarist who fronted the Savage-Stone Band in the early '90s. He also owns and operates Savage Studio, located in Clinton. He is an active member of TAXI, an independent A&R organization for songwriters looking to market their songs to the music business.Deveny is recognized as one of Central New York's top guitar and slide-guitar players. He has appeared at clubs, concerts and festivals throughout the Northeast, and has played at some of the region's biggest shows, including Fireworks Over Central New York, the New York State Blues Festival, the Empire State Blues Festival, the Chenango County Blues Festival, Utica's Good-Old Summertime, Canal Days Celebration, and the Munson-Williams-Proctor Summer Art Festival. He's played on shows with some truly legendary musicians, including Hubert Sumlin, Freddie King, Peter Tosh, the Nighthawks, Roger McGuinn, Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson and more.Now, they have teamed up to work on Savage's recording debut, titled John Savage, set for release in the fall of '99.
