Group Members Sardonyx: Guitars, Vocals, Drum programming. Lord Sardonyx has performed in many underground metal projects, specializing in the bleakest of musics. Other projects by the man include a dark ambient album entitled SPECTRAL AEONS-HYMNS TO THE ASHEN SKIES also availible on cassette. In the works is a dark fantasy accoustic project entitled SARDONYX soon to be released and DESALIN's second release DESTROY HUMANITY NOW.

Press Reviews WORM GEAR -- http://www.crionicmind.org/wormgearDesalin-S/T DemoIowa's Desalin have emerged from obscurity with 4 mechanized tracks of rather hard to pigeonhole metal....this project arrives at an open-minded sound that borrows from black metal in it's discordant riff styles (and occasional higher-pitched screams),clean gothic-influenced crooning that is the main range of the vocalist and a very good sense for creating busy yet comepletely unforgettable rhythms (as on the well-written and almost heavy metal-esque song "Blackship's Descent"). The only description I could tag on this is a more involved form of darkmetal, for it can shift from low down and miserable vibes as on the moody track "Blood", to sparse ambient experimentation where spacey sounds drift off in the distance to the minimal plod of the machine on "Let all the World be Chaos". As a one-man project, Desalin's main man Sardonyx is a very diverse player and has placed a creative spin on a genre of metal that typically falls into safe clusters of heaviness...This 4 track demo is a great introduction to something that has the talent and balls to open even more sub-genres within our ever-changing underground. -Marty
