Artist description
The "band" is me (Bob Ritchie) composing, playing guitars, the occasional bass, whistles and singing. As people come in to contribute their playing talents, I use them for different tracks. So, a heartfelt thanks to Carlos Jiménez for co-writing "Stay Before Me" and contributing his incredible electric guitar playing. |

Music Style
Depending on the day: I call it Rock Plus, which is Rock plus Progressive and/or Folk and/or Jazz and/or Classical and/or Minimalist. Sometimes without the "Rock". |

Artist History
Chimera started as a legitimate rock group. We played in bars and nightclubs around Puerto Rico for almost a year. Our repertoire consisted of rock covers and the odd original tune. I also loved taking two disparate tunes and putting them together. Such as "Hello, I Love You" by the Doors and "The Planets" by Gustav Holst (In fact, I have a great recording of exactly that arrangement that I would love people to hear. Contact me and I'll send you--for free--what I've done.). Or taking Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" and making it into a funk tune. The penultimate version of Chimera broke up in the early nineties. The idea for Chimera lay dormant for a few years then began to make itself heard again through its founding and sole remaining member: me. I released my CD, "Letting Go Again", in 2000 and have nearly finished work on the next one: "On Being Young and Old". All you female singers out there, I need a woman (don't we all) for two different songs. One of them requires singing in Spanish. If you think youcan do the job, drop me a line via eMail: chimerasong@hotmail.com.
