July 28, 2001 - Plainsongs Review
Amsterdam Hash Club "Astronaut"
This is good shit. Calls it experimental post/rock and i agree. mott the hoople meets roxy music meets the clash meets zappa...perhaps. actually this track would fit in very well on fripp's exposure or eno's 'before and after science".
cool, eerie, distant vocals...wicked upfront distorted rhythm guitar...and just a fucking great song...i dig the chorus in a big way, the finishing 'coda' sends shivers..really it does.
This may be the best thing I've heard yet on mp3.com (and I've listened to fucking 2000 bands over the past year, god help me)
excellentexcellentexcellent, and it's all Jeff...I am standing and applauding..
