Artist History
Joe began his music career at a very young age. His father played piano, his brothers played drums and guitars as Joe wrote the lyrics and melodies. Gorgeous harmonies have always come naturally for this talented young musician. Joe has played successfully in Los Angeles with his friend and talented musician, Daniel Gonzalez. Together they formed Over Shabu and developed a loyal following to the music with its hard rock sound and Joe’s powerful vocals.
The current sound that Joe is producing is his own blend of pop rock, with influences ranging from Billy Joel, Ben Folds Five, and The Police. Joe’s piano-based rock sound features thought-provoking lyrics, and his emotionally driven voice depicts stories that are timeless and universal. The talented musicians that compose the careful rhythms and full sound on the record are Doug Bresler on drums, Daniel Gonzalez on guitar, Hikedi Tsuji on guitar, and Yasuyo Kimoto on bass.
“The most important part of songwriting is possessing conviction and faith in one’s own voice. Music should have an affect on the audience,” Joe explained in a recent interview. This is obvious to everyone who has seen Joe play live. He fully experiences each performance—physically, emotionally, spiritually—whether it’s for a group of family and friends at home or the crowds in Hollywood.
Joe’s is currently playing shows to promote his self produced demo as well as getting ready to film his part in a Newline/ Disney film set for production in August. Joe has two songs on the Soundtrack.
