Artist History
The Casanovas were formed in 1999 whilst scrubbing dishes in the back of a cake shop in St.Kilda. Brothers Tom and Patrick teamed up with the now former bassist, Jim Lewis. The trio started out with a handful of toungue in cheek original tunes mixed with Kiss, AC/DC, and Dictators covers and playing seedy dives in the inner suburbs of Melbourne.
Popularity began instantly with crowds steadily increasing in numbers. Jimmy was replaced with former Mustang Bassist Damian Campbell. The Casanovas started to tour nationally and gained supports with the likes of The Vines, The Donnas, Jon Spencer and long time heroes The Dictators and Rose Tattoo. After the release of the bands first EP, Keep It Hot, and the success of their single, Shake It, The boys had gained interest overseas and embarked on a two month tour of the U.K, Europe and the U.S.A with good mates The Datsuns. |
