Artist description
In a small non-growing suburb of Columbus, Ohio, also known as Bexley, a blasting group came from the garage on Drexel Avenue. While listening to inspiring bands such as the Starting Line, Bayside, the Get-Up Kids, and Alkaline Trio, a movement was started. This movement would later become known as the unimaginable Wellington.
In the ripe year of 2000, Raphael Arar (Guitar and vocals) and Andy Tongren (Guitar and vocals) had an occasional "jam session" -- as they liked to call it. Through this jamming, Wellington created music on a very basic level. This music gradually began to come together, around 2002, and Wellington slowly progressed through the early years of high school. When Andy finally quit his old band, formally known as B's Basement, everything began to fall into place. Immediately joining Wellington was bassist, Stephen Goldstein (Bass and backup vocals), who helped add to the musical development. Together they started to cultivate a distinct blend of music that would soothe souls.
Still missing a drummer the band went in search. In March of 2003, a drummer was found. Mike Sidwell from West-side Columbus was the lucky candidate. This last addition was the completion of Wellington as it is known today. |
