Artist description Slaying dragons, rescuing maidens and raiding the spoils of victory are all in a day’s work for Chicago’s newest rock monarchy – KING THADDEUS. Thick, baritone tuned riffs, Floyd-at-Pompei worthy beats and soaring, emotive vocals combine to thunder on into the night, with a noise mighty and powerful enough to be heard by all of his majesty’s kingdom. At first listen, you’ll swear vocalist Mark Parnell crawled from the grooves of Soundgarden’s – Louder Than Love LP, but closer inspection reveals layers of earlier, more complex influences, including Dio-era Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Sir Lord Baltimore and Uriah Heap. Formerly fronting southside Chicago rockers SOUL POLLUTION and SOLIDBURN, Mark brings an incredible amount of depth and energy to KING THADDEUS. Drummer Flint Chiovari, along with Rich Feldhaus and Mike Woodward – sharing bass and guitar duties, may be better known from their membership with Chicago outlaws, THE INFAMOUS. This hard funk/metal band has been tearing it up in Chicago since 1997 – sharing stages with the likes of Disturbed, Filter, No One and Lungbrush. As deployed in King Thaddeus, this trio allows a wider range of dynamics, attack and instrumentation surface in the music. Will King Thaddeus rule supreme – or become laughable court jesters?
