Artist History
Highly inspired by his friend and sometimes music parter, digital nomad Eklektro Greg, Derek has undergone the process of locating (sometimes hidden in a closet) a slew of gear that can be taken anywhere to perform.
Having had experience with busking, drum circles in concert parking lots, and open mics, where other performers only had to bring a drum or an accoustic guitar, Derek wanted to be able to perform his unique version of the improv music he was hearing. So, after collaborating with Eklektro Greg's mobile car battery/inverter powered performance vehicle, the spark set off what has become a huge hit in the Baltimore open mic community.
Now (Summer 2003) the project has taken wings, and a return to the source is underway as Derek is packing up the 2 suitcases full of electronic toys and heading west to sunny Venice Beach to further his collaborations with the ever evolving EKLEKTRO.NET project. |
