    Artist History
Red Chester's history first began back in 2001 at the Stamford High battle of the bands. Bryan and Matt were in the same band at the time called Thick Thought, and Dan was in Louder Than Words. Bryan and Matt really liked L.T.W.'s performance, but thought that Dan had problems because of the way he acted, before, during, and after the show. Dan was up in front the whole time Thick Thought played. The two bands exchanged numbers and emails afterwards to keep in contact. So this is how they all first met, but nothing much really happened until 2002. Bryan started to talk to Dan online and they decided to jam one day and got together at Dan's house in April of 2002. Bryan didn't know what to really expect from Dan, but when he heard the songs he was working on, he was blown away. Since Dan and Bryan were unhappy with their current bands, they decided to find a drummer to make it official. Bryan and Dan played with a couple of drummers, but no one really worked out. Then they decided to ask Matt to come play with them sometime. Everything flowed better having Matt on drums. Bryan was good friends with Matt since he was the drummer of his last two bands; it made playing much easier. The first song they all wrote together as a band was Flatline. To this day it's still a group and crowd favorite. Eventually Matt and Bryan decided to leave their last band A.J.F. to start a permanant group with Dan fulltime. They both really felt Dan's commitment and style would definitely give them a better chance of making it somewhere. The band has currently finished recording their debut EP "Long Way From Home", which is for sale.So go pick it up!!Shortly after finished the e.p. ,and playing tons of shows with a huge fan base now, they pick up fan/friend of the band Russell Lyman as a second guitarist, to make this pop punk trio a four peice now. There sound is much fuller live and the stage show is intense, so come check it out. When they aren't playing shows, jamming, or recording new songs, they are out promomting the crap out of the band to anyone they find. So make sure you stop by to see your neighborhood friendly Red Chester. Thanks for stopping by....

CD - Long Way Home EP band - Red Chester Year - 2002 Review - I'd downloaded a few of their mp3s before and i wasn't impressed. I wasn't extremely excited about getting the CD in the mail but the band was looking for an honest review and i was prepared to give it. I put the EP into my D drive on my PC and for the next 18 minutes i was absolutely captivated by what i heard. pop punk...but far more than that. it was good. it was catchy. it made me want to sing along although i had never heard it before. the instrumentals were melodic yet still almost had a pure punk sound to them. the lyrics were better than most other bands from the area but not by too much. this is one of those albums you'll put it and find yourself singing to in a matter of hours. i feel bad for ever having anything bad to think about it before i had actually recieved it. i suggest you buy this EP...no wait... i don't suggest...JUST BUY IT! Any fan of the CT scene will, without a doubt, appreciate this disc. -I'd rate the cd a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. Reviewed by Chris from halfpoint-http://www.halfpoint.cjb.net
