Artist History Lindsey O'Briant always knew that music was her destiny. Many girls dream that same dream but few have the drive, determination and talent it takes to make that wish come true. Possessing both vocal power and an undeniable star quality, it is impossible to take your eyes off Lindsey. She knows the road ahead is tough, but Lindsey O'Briant is an artist prepared to pay her dues. . Growing up in Dallas, Lindsey started paving the way early. She performed in school plays, sang in choir, each year winning the prestigious 'singer of the year' award. Influenced by such musical powerhouses as Mariah Carey and Faith Hill, Lindsey set her sights on bigger things. As she continued to grow, she began to take part in small ensemble groups and was part of a select ensemble to perform at the White House for then President Clinton. Each year at school banquets she would perform, allowing everyone to see what an amazing talent she possessed. Highlighting her years at school was a solo performance in front of 1000 people that included former First Lady Barbara Bush. She sharpened her skills early, and now is starting to take the important first steps to a career in mainstream music. Lindsey's vocal talent is undeniable and in addition to these early performances, she made a decision to focus seriously on her music. She began to hone her craft by studying with renowned vocal teacher Linda Septian. Her promise was evident and Lindsey made early strides becoming one of 10 nation wide finalists in the Samsung Britney Spears Karaoke contest and a top 10 regional finalist for Fox's American Idol. Her bold personality led her to make a phone call that would jump-start her career and take her music to the next level. The call Lindsey made was to recording artist and producer Sally Anthony. An incredible talent in the music industry, Anthony had received many phone calls from artists wanting to work with her, but she was reluctant to ever take on new artists, never hearing the real talent she knew it would take to make it in the music industry. Lindsey knew she only had one chance to make a first impression on Anthony, and with out hesitation put down the phone and began to sing. Anthony, equally impressed with both her incredible vocal ability and fearless drive, arranged for a meeting. Sally Anthony agreed to write and produce Lindsey's first demo. Much to everyone's surprise, Lindsey proved that she had more to offer than just a phenomenal voice. Lindsey uncovered a talent she had kept long hidden, her insightful songwriting ability. She wanted to be more than a manufactured pop star and knew this first demo was crucial in establishing herself as a real artist. Lindsey and Sally co-wrote two songs on her demo, confirming that she was more than just an impressive voice. The collaborations spurred the infectious 'Me and My Girls' and a song of relationship empowerment 'Jerk'. Lindsey writes about her own experiences with friendship, love and heartbreak. She describes her music as pop, but not in the traditional pop sense. Lindsey says that 'music is about feeling and having an impact on the listening, it's about true emotion, even if it is a dance song. I want people to feel what I am saying'. The demo also includes the ballad 'Your Way', a showcase of Lindsey's tremendous vocal range and ability. Lindsey credits her experience with Sally Anthony as the inspiration she uses to move forward. 'Sally Anthony is a self-made woman. Sally is so talented at everything she does; she inspires me because she is the real deal. Sally Anthony creates herself, her music, and her image all in her own unique way. Sally is definitely someone I look up to because she is so incredibly talented and it shows through everything she does.' Her collaboration with Sally helped Lindsey understand that she can be in control of her career and her destiny. Lindsey says, 'Simply being around Sally inspires me to be the best that I can possibly be at my craft. With as much knowledge as Sally has about the music industry and the success she has made, she is such a great role model to look up to. I am so grateful for everything she has helped me accomplish.” Lindsey knows that the road is long but her determination and drive set the stage for a future star in the music industry. Not wanting to be every other pop princess, she knows she needs to make herself stand out, show people who she is, and what she can do. Her first efforts show that she is more than just an image, that she has the voice and the talent to take her all the way.
