Artist description
Time Design was formed in early 2003 by singer/bass-player/songwriter Daniel Boström and Matti Lovell who had played together in the hard rock group "The Rockateers".
They found an excellent guitar-player in Joakim Carlberg, but the trio soon agreed they needed an additional member, either a keyboard-player or another guitar-player. DB called up Joakim Fritzner, who had been involved in earlier attempts of forming Time Design (although the name came in way later), to make some inquiries regarding possible members. JF suggested himself and that sounded good to everyone. JF brought new blood to Daniels compositions with his great arranging skills, not to mention the lap steel guitar.
The quartet recorded a twelve track demo at Daniels house during spring/summer 2003. Guests on the recording included singers Christina Carlsson and Johanna Skoog and the El Musico trombone-player David Byström.
The music of Time Design is probably best described as pop music with influences from a wide range of styles such as jazz, country and soul. References has been made to such artists as Steely Dan, Sting and James Taylor...
