Since Beginning his professional career at age fifteen, Micah Burgess has found himself in a variety of performing situations. His original jazz/fusion project, Me3, was featured in the Summer 2000 issue of Jazz Exodus, a publication out of Birmingham, Alabama. As a studio guitarist, Micah provided guitar work for a comedy feature played on National Public Radio. As a freelance guitarist, Micah recently performed in concert with sixties teen idol Bobby Rydell. Duquesne University jazz director Mike Tomaro referred to Micah as someone who “exudes the proper balance between leadership and sensitivity in every musical situation.” His honors include music scholarship from Duquesne University, an award for excellence from Fender Guitars, as well as an Outstanding Soloist Award from the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in Chicago. |
