Artist History
Around January/February 2003, Sam and Lawton, after playing with several different bassists, began talking to a then-apprehensive Dan about playing in a ska band. After one or two practices, Dan's apprehension was gone and he became a full-fledged member of the band. We toyed with several names, including Friendly Neighborhood Uprising, the Reruns and the Sputniks. Our horn section is and always has been iffy. We thought we had a good 3-piece section ready, but it turns out none of them were too commited. On, the Toasters came to St. Louis and Dan and Lawton attended the show. They handed out a bunch of 'seeking horn section' flyers. It was there that we met David, who played onstage with the Toasters that night. We're still continuing the search for hornists to fill the rest of the horn section, but are keeping it rude in St. Louis despite this. |
