Artist History FaelSafe: a local hard rock band made up of 5 guys, had it’s debut performance at the Alturas Nightclub and bar February 28, 2003. Since then they have been playing local venues such as the Club Underground, KnuckleHeads, Club Voodoo, and various other venues. FaelSafe is, 2 brothers, Brian Evans 22 lead vocals Reed high graduate, and a TMCC / UNR student, David Evans 17 on Drums and Reed High School graduate, Mark Davis 18 Lead Guitar, Reed high graduate and a TMCC Student, Mike (Spike) Nelms 17 Lead & Rhythm guitar is an ACE Charter High School graduate, and Rich McGrail 17 bass also a Reed High School graduate. With the obvious exception of the brothers, the guys have all known each other since 1995. Playing contemporary hard rock covers songs with great attention to reproducing the sound in true tribute form. Offering covers of bands such as, Disturbed, System of a Down, GodSmack, Sevendust, and more.Their originals clearly reflect the styles which they cover. Brian Evans with his 4 octave range, offers up a brash and racking vocal style and is also quite adept at the more melodic tones, making him an all around vocalist. With his blonde hair, blue eyes and good looks, Brian makes for a solid frontman offering a dominant stage prescense. David Evans, has been playing the drums for 5 years, and is the 1st string drummer in the Jazz and pep bands at Reed High School. He has a style due to his band teacher, Doc McKenzie, it ranges between jazz and progressive rock. With Davids 6’3” 200lbs frame he handles the drums with the presense of a construction foreman, building the foundation for which the other band members flourish. Mark Davis, has been playing the guitar for 4 years. Due to influence of his father, also a guitarist, he has made astounding leaps in the use of pentatonic scales. Mark is the laid back, but smart alecy portion of the band. With his blonde hair, blue eyes, boyish features, and his pants waist line down around his thighs, he takes on the role of the, “pretty boy heart throb” with the young girls. Mike Nelms also, has been playing guitar for 4 years. He has a natural sense of rhythm and a non stop style of crashing through a set with an onstage display of pure rock n roll ferocity that is infectious to watch. Without a single lesson in his life he has that innate ability to hear, and express his musical senses through the guitar. Rich McGrail rounds out the Quintet with his innovative bass riffs. A guitarist at the heart, Rich has picked up the bass and embraced his role as the bottom end on strings. Not content to lay quitely in the background, Rich steps into the front line right along with the 2 guitarist, laying down his contribution with sweeping sounds up and down the bass. A young group of musicians with a brilliant future ahead of them. Look for the name, FaelSafe, in the local club calenders. They intend on being a powerful and continually present force in the Reno Rock music scene this summer.
