    Artist History
It was more than four years ago that Jeff Priskorn ("Phruity") met Tony Wynn in a dark alley behind a local bar. Blows were exchanged, and when the dust cleared, the woman they were grappling over was long gone. Disappointed, but now mysteriously drawn to each other, they re-entered the bar where they were greeted unceremoniously by Tony's wife. Aside from the wife thing, the stars must have been smiling, for on this night a certain kinship was forged between these two characters from opposite sides of the tracks. Both software engineers, they began working for the same company. Sharing a small office, the two soon discovered mutual interests including musicianship and an appetite for the finest comedy. A steady diet of Jerky Boys and Adam Sandler albums led Tony to christen Jeff "Phruity", based on one of the Jerky Boys' favorite epithets. Tony (guitar, bass, keyboards) and Phruity (vocals, drums, percussion) have performed in their own rock bands in the metro Detroit area over the years, and both have studio experience. Phruity's band Intense Silence recorded an 8-song EP titled Wonder, while Tony's band Dead Mole in the Corner had significant live exposure and also recorded a short demo. The pair have written several mainstream songs in the past year. But the crux of the matter here are the many humorous and satirical songs this crazy duo have written over the past four years. The subject of most of these songs has been the management of their (former) company. A touchy subject for some, perhaps, but Tony and Phruity were nearly begged to write and perform a new song for each big company function, lampooning new fodder every time. They now have a double-digit catalog of such songs that are loved and appreciated the county over, and they felt that the next logical step would be to write songs that the whole world could appreciate. They began submitting their material to local radio stations in March of 1999 and soon were receiving copious airplay and rave reviews from the listening public. Their breakthrough song, Good Riddance (To The Corner), was first aired in September, 1999 on WDFN AM 1130 in Detroit. The smashing success of this song lead to a live performance at the annual Stoney & Wojo Labor Day BBQ, which itself then lead to the station requesting that the duo record a few versions of the venerable Stoney & Wojo theme song, which was a huge honor and opportunity for the boys, given that the Stoney & Wojo show is Detroit's #1 afternoon radio show! Currently, their song The Copa, a humorous dedication to the Detroit Tigers' new home, Comerica Park, is in heavy rotation on WDFN, with more theme songs and parodies sure to come from the dynamic duo that is Phruitopia. Their song I Miss The Drive, which memorialized the Detroit Lions' sad 1999 season, was aired to very positive reviews back in January, 2000. Phruitopia's work for WDFN has earned them the billing of "House Band" for the station! The pair are also members of other local bands, with Phruity on drums & vocals and Tony on bass. The bands include Carnalea, an Irish and top 40 cover band that plays monthly at The Blarney Stone Pub in Berkley, and Master of None, an original band that gigs all over the Detroit area. This site is an homage to their earth-shattering and mind-tickling creations.

    Press Reviews
In addition to their scathing song parodies that have aired throughout metro Detroit, Phruitopia has written several very well-received theme songs for the Stoney & Wojo Show, Detroit's #1 drive time radio show on WDFN AM 1130.
