    Artist History
Joe West began writing and playing songs when he was a mere punk-rock child in the oft-frozen flatlands of South Dakota. He developed his folk roots during an extended adolescence that carried him through his college years, a stint in Minneapolis and onto the hard streets of New York City. In 1997, convinced that his musical tales of Boozers, Lovers and Truckers might strike a chord in Texas, Mr. West moved to Austin and rounded up The Sinners. He snatched young Andy McWilliams (lead guitar) from the seedy lower depths of Houston. Nick Fontaine wandered in, trance-like, from an abandoned oil tanker in Long Beach, California and signed his name in blood. And Paul Schlichting(drums) is a special case indeed; he was lured from scintillating Seguin, Texas, by the Ghost-of-Rock-and-Roll Future. You see, Mr. Schlichting was teaching junior high band when he experienced a series of nightmares that had one reoccurring motif--some whacked out guy claiming to be Judas Iscariot kept flashing an ominous message: LET THE CHILDREN LIVE... BUT CALL JOE WEST. And that is what he did!
