Artist History
Holliston Stops founding member Soup, having been brought up with both parents as musician/songwriters, started playing music at age 5 and earned himself a scholarship to ISOMATA (Idylwild School of Music and Theater Arts) by the time he was in High School. Songwriting partner Shmed, who ironically also attended ISOMATA (at a different time) and LACHSA (Los Angeles County High School for the Arts) started exhibiting a propensity for songwriting around age 3. Their combined understanding of melody and harmony has produced some incredibly infectious, sing-along pop songs. This, accompanied by the outstanding musicianship shared by the entire band, leaves one with a feeling of pure satisfaction and a desire to hear more! Last year while playing at a local Pasadena venue, they attracted the attention of musician/producer/music director Ben Vaughn. They have since gone into the studio with Vaughn to produce a three song CD. They recorded at the home studio of engineer Mark Linett who has recorded with Brian Wilson, George Martin and The Beach Boys, just to name a few. In March of this year Holliston Stops, made their national television debut on "That 70's Show" as the prom band, which was quickly followed by another appearance as... [!] the prom band on "3rd Rock From The Sun" with guest star William Shatner joining them! Not bad for a band in it's first year! |
