Artist History
Busker Soundcheck first rehearsed in a factory in Joliet Illinois. The band had to sneak their gear in at night and often was sneaking out at the wee hours of the morning just before the workers came in.Within a year (1990) the band had recorded a critically acclaimed demo (called one of the Top 5 unsigned bands in the U.S. by New Route magazine) and was getting shows at top clubs in Chicago and around the Midwest.Busker Soundcheck has played over 600 shows, mostly in the midwest and eastern United States. To date there are two full length CD's available, 3 CD EP's, and two albums on cassette. There have also been a handful of bootleg live recordingsthat occasionally show in record store bins. Busker just released their newalbum "Welcome to Buskerland" and have been played on several college and commercial radio stations. The band has opened for Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt and many other top midwestern acts. |

Press Reviews
"One of the TOP 5 unsigned bands in the nation" New Route "One thing that gives Busker Soundcheck depth is it's humor. Busker Soundcheck melds classic and modern rock sounds, making the band ripe with commercial potential." CMJ New Music Report "Lots of big guitar doing it's own thing, big bass chops and great percussion. They certainly have a broad dynamic range. Sweet, pretty and pissed all at the same time. But more importantly the band seems to have a certain sincerity about it (yet another precious commodity these days)." Ray-O-Lux "Along comes a band out of the indie hinterlands attempting to reconcile punk with classic rock, psychedilia and prog. Busker Soundcheck, a power trio out of Chicago, has a lot going for them." Option |
