Artist description
Bedlam Abbey is a group of 6 musicians bringing renaissance music back to life. With a mixture of instruments both ancient and modern, songs and melodies from the Middle Ages and Renaissance Era are once again heard, delighting the modern ear with the familiar melodies of songs far older than our great-grandparents. A mixture of instrumental and vocal pieces ranging from English country dance tunes to Celtic jigs and reels to Elizabethan Court songs. All melodies are performed with a flair for the dramatic and a subtle sense of humor. So come join us for an evening of entertainment and pageantry. Hear early music as it’s never been played before, but listen closely…..You never know when the unexpected will happen!! Our members have played everything from 10th century Crusader hymns to modern rock-and-roll and combine the experiences into a sound that brings early music into the present with a bang. |
