Artist History
The band Violent Resolution, hailing from Marshfield, Massachusetts, traces its roots back to another Marshfield band, Dwarf Bowling, a band which four of VR's members used to be in (Andy Kelliher: drums, Josh Anderson: vocals, Mike Webber: lead guitar, and P.J. Marshalka: bass). A couple of years ago, a feud in Dwarf Bowling, mainly between lead guitarist Adam Wright and drummer Andy Kelliher, resulted in Adam kicking out Andy and singer Josh Anderson and changing the band's name to Miasma. Luckily, Mike Webber had left the band before the tragic incident, but P.J. Marshalka was at this point essentially Adam's puppet and continued on with Miasma until eventually Adam kicked him out, too (after forcing him to buy over $1000 of new equipment, including a new bass and amp). After months of bitter dispute and Adam's reign of terror, finally, a new band was formed to challenge Miasma. With Andy, Josh, Mike, and P.J. from Dwarf Bowling, and new rhythm guitarist Aodhan Bulger, Violent Resolution now rocks the south shore of Massachusetts. They play a wide variety of genres, sometimes referred to as "garden rock." They blend together various genres to come out with their unique sounding mix of classic rock, geek rock, and hard rock. Give them a listen. |
