Artist History Still Small Voice was formed in March 2002 by Rab (drums) and Rick (guitar), after a discussion about the possibility of forming an extreme Christian metal band, merging thrash/hardcore metal musicianship with clear cut scripture inspired lyrics. Rab had this vision many years previously and was waiting for the right people to come along, to set the wheels in motion. Writing and rehearsals began immediately and a set of original material began to come together, with an emphasis on riff heavy songs and intense double bass drumming. In September 2002, a mutual friend introduced Pete to the band. Pete was an old friend of Rick and is an extremely proficient guitar player in his own right, but expressed a desire to play bass within the group, despite having no experience on bass prior to this !!! After a brief chat, Pete was drafted into the band and has since added a new dimension to the music, with his note heavy bass melodies complementing the guitar/drum foundation perfectly. The vocal slot was the only one left to be filled and in October 2002, Shem was introduced to the band, again by a mutual friend. The vocal style required was one of passionate aggression delivered cleanly, so that the message of the songs was delivered with maximum impact and clarity. Shem fitted the bill perfectly, with his versatile vocals delivering everything from soft melodic lines to full on aggressive screams!!! Still Small Voice was now complete as a band. In June of 2003 we released the Embers EP.
