Artist description
Ever wonder what would happen if goth rockers Danzig & pop punkers Blondie had a love child? Now what if this child had the voice of Natalie Merchant? Well wonder no longer - because Ginger Fig has arrived to alleviate this burning curiousity. Combining the best of rock, goth metal, punk, and a healthy dose of pop, Ginger Fig fuses these various influences into their own unique blend of energtic rock music which has already earned them the reputation as one of West Michigan's most original acts.
Led by vocalist / lyricist Connie Meines, Ginger Fig packs a powerful live punch with her charismatic & enthusiatic performances. Known for her tongue-in-cheek yet in your face style of writing, Connie sends the listener through a lyrical voyage ranging from the sarcastic, to the empowered, to the personal.
Catchy riffs and rocking melodies define the contribution of Ginger Fig’s primary song writer Ryan Cunningham as track after track continue to keep the audience’s blood flowing and feet dancing. Ryan’s good natured playfulness & extensive knowledge in a variety of guitar styles shines though in his compositions & melodies.
Founding member Jason Chester continues to lay down a solid low end with his bass guitar as he has since the band’s inception in 2002. Known for his perseverance he has become the foundation for which Ginger Fig has been built.
After what seemed an endless search for the right man on the skins, Ginger Fig finally found their man in former Kyser Soze drummer Paul Ward who since joining the band has helped to redefine and solidify the band. Paul uses his extensive history as a drummer, guitarist, songwriter, producer & marketing designer to provide direction for the band as they move forward into new musical frontiers.

Artist History
Ginger Fig was originally formed as Two Minutes Hate in 2002 by founding member Jason Chester. Connie Meines was added to the line up soon after, which served as the core for the rest of the group's eventual gathering. For the next several months the band was plagued by a revolving door of guitar players and drummers.
In late 2002 Ryan Cunningham was added to the band as it's new guitar player. Ryan quickly established himself as the primary songwriter for the group which greatly helped in defining the bands current sound.
In March of 2003 former Kyser Soze drummer Paul Ward joined the group to complete the line up. Long time friend to Connie, Paul had first served as a substitute drummer during a show in which Two Minutes Hate was opening for Kyser Soze. After completion of the performance Paul decided to resign from Kyser Soze and stay on in Two Minutes Hate.
With the line up now complete, the group renamed under the moniker GINGER FIG. With assistance from new drummer Paul's background in marketing & music production, Ginger Fig rapidly redefined it's image, sound and direction. Ginger Fig has now transformed into a cutting edge rock group with an aggressive, serious approach to the music business.
