Artist description
San Telmo Lounge is a soloist project which appears at the end of 2001 as an attempt to merging tango and electronic sounds, going through some of their different expressions, such as trance, jungle, drum and bass, break and dance, this added to the sound of jazz and rock guitars.
This work was carried out in two different stages: January, February and March 2002; and January, February 2003 (guitars and mixing)
With the help of the computer, MARTIN DELGADO, the author of this work, used the cut & paste technique (a very elaborate one) and combined sounds from different softwares with guitars recorded by himself.
The samples used include bandoneones from Astor Piazzola; pieces from the Anibal Troilo Orchestra; sampled voices of Roberto Goyeneche and Julian Centeya from the album Suite Porteña; rhythmic bases from David Bowie, Joe Satriani and Jason Cluts; midi and samples from Miroslav Vitous.
The songs are composed by Martin Delgado, except for Backcelonia, which is a version of Buenos Aires Hora 0 by Astor Piazzola. The remainig songs are completely original, or made out of existing structures. (See Brief Description of The Songs).
The guitars are played in jazz style over modal bases. The theme, the solos and the recapitulation have a standard form.
