    Artist History
Twenty Twenty Vision (23-year-old Manchester Singer-Songwriter, Adrian Lomas) has been recording solo material since 1998. His first acoustic demos received favourable reviews in 1999 from Melody Maker and the Manchester City Life magazine, who awarded his first two demos their coveted "Star Choice" award. A&R at the Echo Label Ltd made a phonecall in praise of his early recordings. "This is pleasant ... sweeping harmonies and minor chords." - Melody Maker "Adept at writing lovely, heartfelt harmony-drenched songs." - Manchester City Life In 2000, Adrian performed a live acoustic session on Radio Space in Manchester as well as a couple of low-key acoustic gigs at Jabez Clegg and Cafe Pop in Manchester. The last review of his acoustic material came in 2001 with Manchestermusic.co.uk describing the demo as "one of the best acoustic records I've heard in a while." Nude Records e-mailed in the spring of 2001 requesting demo material. In 2002, Adrian began using the computer more in his recordings, adding drum beats and various other sounds. A new batch of short, quirky songs was written, and in a matter of a few months, nine more reviews were published. "Perhaps the fact that it's easy to identify with the songs' content is what makes this CD just so breathtaking." - Rhythm-and-booze.co.uk "Fans of plaintive-yet-tuneful pop can't fail to be impressed." - AboutTheMusic.co.uk "Delicate, thoughtful and very promising set of songs." - Stolenwine.co.uk "I have little doubt that Lomas is an accomplished songwriter." - Audio-Democracy.com In the fall of 2002, Adrian's demo material was requested by several labels including V2 Music Publishing. This interest continued into 2003 with more labels (including Sony Music) requesting material. The Echo Label has asked to be notified of London dates, and the label manager who signed Suede commented that the songwriting has "tremendous potential" and showed interest in seeing a live show. 2003 has also seen more reviews of Adrian's demo work published. Collective-zine.co.uk who said the material has "a beautiful and simple sound sure to be heard on A Radio Near You in the not too distant future" and Juxta Fanzine made Adrian their "Artist-of-the-week" in April, describing the music as "undeniably original."

"Cool - some quiet, delicate and very very pretty music on this demo from Twenty Twenty Vision. This demo's going to be in permanent circulation in my listening habits - that much I can tell already - with five dreamy, soothing songs ... it's no understatement to say this music's like therapy after a very stressful afternoon, and will continue to be after many more stressful afternoons in the future I'm sure. The sampled drums, and harmonised vocals very much bring to mind Jimmy Eat World circa-Clarity, whilst cross-referencing the more mainstream UK indie bracket of bands like Lowgold, The Reindeer Section, and Doves. But, whatever the credentials and cross-references, this really is, dare I say, a beautiful and simple sound, sure to be heard on A Radio Near You in the not too distant future. A pleasant surprise. 7.5/10." Collective-Zine.co.uk ..... "On "What Am I To Say?", Twenty Twenty Vision have a thumping bass drum and the captivating ring of acoustic guitars, reeling us in towards compelling vocals and layered melodies. Sounding more like a mellow case of West Coast Slacker Indie, it's a convincing job, with its build ups and twist and turns. A shame that the beats seem stuck as output from a drum machine, as live percussion would add a lot to this. "Baby Lost" shines a bit more, with a riff and timing that has echoes of The Cure. The Vox still work well against the more upbeat tempo. "Oh Pretty Jane" is more laid back and seems a bit harder to sink into and is more of a solo acoustic effort. "Something Or Nothing" dabbles with distortion and guitar effects quite successfully. The arrangement is great. There's also what sounds like a harmonica effect, with the track itself shoved through the higher end of the EQ range and the multi layered vocals are rich and effectively simple. Hints of melodic genius can be glimpsed, without looking too deeply into this collection of rather promising songs. 4/5." manchestermusic.co.uk .....
