Artist History
Mankind is Obsolete began with founding members Natasha Cox (vocals, synth) and Jon Siren (drums). Jon relocated to Los Angeles from Columbus, Ohio and met Natasha from Texas while playing in Pseudocipher, a Hollywood-based electronic group. During that time Jon joined Hate Dept. as their keyboardist/drummer. The two decided to write music on their own while continuing their duties with Pseudocipher and Hate Dept.
By year's end, MKIO's groundwork had been laid and several songs were already in the final stages of recording, with Jon or Natasha playing every instrument on the tracks. It was at this point that new members were needed, so Jon and Natasha recruited Mark Nurre(guitar) and Jaime Roy (bass). The four rehearsed together several times and soon added a fifth member, Nathan Trowbridge (levels, keys, backing vocals, etc.).
Mankind is Obsolete has recently finished recording the six song Metamorph EP and plans to release the work in August of 2003. MP3's of the band's work have already attracted interest online, and those who are already familiar with the members' previous projects eagerly await the new release.
