Artist description
Soul’s unique sound can be described as hip-hop with an edge of street gospel, rapped with the feeling of a blues singer pouring out matters of the heart. There is something in Soul’s music that is familiar, yet completely new. As the producer, Soul blends guitars, beats, keys, and jazz /funk colored samples. Soul the lyricist moves from the poetic to the raw, telling stories that are more in the vein of urban folklore than street bravado. This original mixture of musical and lyrical elements gives birth to a new sound that transcends the boundaries of traditional hip-hop altogether, creating music that Soul likes to call, “everyday music for everyday people.” |
