BIOGRAPHY
Fred began playing Guitar during his teenage years, he attended the Northern Metropolitan College of Tafe and completed the 2 year Advanced Certificate in Jazz Performance. During this time, Fred was involved in the recording of an album with the Progressive Rock band named ‘Vaudeville’. This album proved extremely popular landing him contracts throughout Asia and parts of Europe. Fred continued on to complete further study, attending La Trobe University studying the Bachelor of Music Degree based on classical influences, which he successfully completed in 1998.
Soon after, Fred decided to record and release a solo Instrumental CD. This CD was in the style of Progressive Jazz-Rock Fusion under the name ‘DELUC’. The debut CD was called ‘DELUC 8TH WONDER’. Fred distributed and promoted the CD through varied channels, he negotiated terms with numerous record labels worldwide. Fred has exposed his music 'Deluc' throughout Asia, Europe, England, Russia and also the USA to name a few. Through this the entire stock of 'Deluc - 8th Wonder' was sold out. Fred then did an additional pressing so as to continue distribution of stock overseas. This is an ongoing project for Fred as he looks toward new marketing strategies to release his work so the world can hear it.
During these projects, Fred was also employed by the Northern Metropolitan College of Tafe, as a Sound Engineer. Fred began teaching Guitar in 1995 at various music schools and continued this for 6 years. Performance is a big part of what he does, having played with numerous successful Corporate Bands such as DEJAVU, THE ELVIS TRIBUTE SHOW, TOM JONES TRIBUTE SHOW etc. and performing to a clientele from Commonwealth bank, the Crown casino to 3MP radio in venues that hold major capacity crowds like the Rod laver Arena, Park Hyate and the Crown Palladium room to name few. With these acts and his own Fred has had the experience to tour different parts of the world on 5 star cruises and city’s of Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore. Taiwan straight back home to Sydney, Queensland, Adelaide and the Casino’s throughout Tasmania.
After completing his Bachelor of Music, Fred worked with three other musicians to record and release another CD, this one in the style of Adult Contemporary Pop Rock (e.g.. Sting, Seal etc.) The band went by the name of ‘MICO’ which the CD was self titled. Fred was responsible for composing a large portion of the material and was the producer of the 'Mico' project.
Today, Fred has released another CD for his own act ‘DELUC’. This time, using the influences of a nylon acoustic guitar and the styles of Latin, R&B, Funk and Flamenco also using textures of percussive loops, voice, saxophone and orchestrated string lines. The CD is called 'WHEN TWO WORLDS MEET'. The first CD '8th Wonder' has created a wave of positive feed back opening the way for this latest release. 'When Two Worlds Meet' has only been released, early 2001 and has had a great response to date.
Fred had the pleasure to acquire an endorsement and support from 2 great companies 'Lab Systems' amplifiers, and Takamine guitars (Pro Music Australia)
Which he now uses proudly. Fred performs weekly at the Hard Rock Cafe in Melbourne and has done so for the past 18 months and also in the Zagames chain for the past 6 months and also he will be performing @ the up and coming Australian Grand pre 2002. Press Reviews
Missing Motions, the latest release from this amazing artist DELUC. This release follows its predecessor When Two Worlds meet using the nylon string guitar as the main instrument. Captivating the styles of Latin, jazz, and world influences to create this musical world of excitement, sorrow and fulfillment.
Missing motions introduces such instrumentation as the Violin, Trumpet, Baritone and Alto Saxophones, full vocal sections and a Brass section but still keeping the focus on the Flamenco Guitar.
At times Deluc wonders of using the electric guitar to create the amazing melodic lines that you can’t help being pulled in.
Recorded in 2003 at the Deluc new studios and Mastered by the one and only Michael Costa ( Stream AV ) the production will leave you speechless. Also with amazing performances by: Anthony Scaffidi-drums percussion, Glen Blair- saxophones, Kate Leduc- voice percussion, Lachlan McLeod- Violin, Bob Venier- Trumpet and finally Fred Leduc- Guitar Bass Keyboards Voice. This release will show the unique talents and experience of each musician.
Experience this journey and it is guaranteed that you will never look back only wanting and waiting for what’s to come.
